meditate with my eyes open
I used to meditate before bed to facilitate astral projection, but my biggest challenge was falling asleep before I could meditate sufficiently. I've since realized that the simple solution is to meditate in a sleeping position with my eyes open.
Around 2:00 p.m., before returning to sleep, I'd begin my meditation. First, I'd stand and compress the area between my abdomen and back (the point below the navel). After feeling the energy in my central channel, I'd then meditate in a sleeping posture, keeping my eyes open and continuously stopping my internal dialogue. In Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism, specifically in the perfection stage, it's explained that approaching emptiness occurs when the "wind" dissolves into the indestructible drop in the heart chakra. Conversely, as I continuously stopped my internal dialogue, I felt my breath (the "wind") being naturally drawn into my heart. After a while, I confirmed my body was floating and that I was indeed experiencing an astral projection. I moved around the room in a cross-legged position before returning to my physical body after some time.
